# KeySpeak - Privacy Policy

## Summary

KeySpeak processes all audio locally on your Mac. Nothing leaves your device.

## Data We Collect

None. KeySpeak does not collect, store, transmit, or share any personal data.

## Audio Data

- Audio is captured from your microphone only while you hold the record hotkey.
- Audio is held in memory during recording and transcription.
- Audio is discarded immediately after transcription completes.
- Audio is never saved to disk, transmitted over a network, or shared with any third party.

## Transcription Data

- Transcriptions are generated locally using a Whisper model running on your Mac.
- Transcribed text is typed into the active application and then discarded from memory.
- No transcription history is stored.

## Settings Data

- Your preferences (hotkey, language, word corrections) are stored locally at ~/Library/Application Support/keyspeak/settings.json.
- This file never leaves your device.

## Network Access

KeySpeak makes zero network connections. It does not phone home, check for updates, or communicate with any server.

## Third-Party Services

KeySpeak uses no third-party services, analytics, crash reporting, or telemetry.

## Microphone Access

KeySpeak requires microphone permission to record your voice for transcription. You can revoke this at any time in System Settings > Privacy & Security > Microphone.

## Accessibility Access

KeySpeak requires Accessibility permission to register global hotkeys and type text into other applications. You can revoke this at any time in System Settings > Privacy & Security > Accessibility.

## Children's Privacy

KeySpeak does not knowingly collect any data from anyone, including children.

## Changes

This policy may be updated from time to time. Changes will be reflected in the "Last updated" date above.
